The student taps their name on the class tablet, no password, and the worksheet is waiting: dotted-line writing, lined paper or grid paper, with your instruction on top, to trace over with their own pencils. A button reads the instruction out loud for those who do not read yet.

Grade 1 is the year everything gets traced

Handwriting, first sounds, first numbers: Grade 1 is learned by hand. A worksheet on a tablet is not there to replace paper. It is there so the worksheet still exists in June, so the family has seen it, and so you never had to photocopy, collect, mark and file it.

These are six-year-olds' data. We treat them that way.

Hosted in Canada, compliant with Quebec's Law 25, no ads. Parents decide what can be captured of their child, and you decide what they get shown.

One QR poster per class, valid all year and active during school hours only. Nothing to remember, reset or leak.

Nothing leaves without you

A photo or a piece of work reaches families only when you approve it. Family comments pass through you before they appear, too.

Deletion on request

A parent can ask for their child's data to be erased, and a teacher who leaves can download everything and then have it all deleted, within 30 days.

What Grade 1 teachers ask us

Can I put my own worksheets in LinoClass?
Yes. You create an activity on the canvas: pick a background (lined, grid, dotted, dotted-line writing or a blank page), place your instruction and an image or a photo of the worksheet, then assign it. A library of tracing, matching and drawing templates is there to get you started.
How does a student hand in work?
They open the activity from their home screen, do it on the tablet and tap I'm done. It shows up on your submissions page as pending. When you approve it, it enters their portfolio and their family can see it.
Do I need an iPad for every student?
No. LinoClass runs in the browser of an iPad, a Chromebook or a laptop. With four tablets at a centre, students take turns: each one scans the poster and taps their name, and the previous student's session closes in one tap.
Can I assign an activity to only a few students?
Yes. An activity goes to the whole class, to selected students or to a group you have set up (groups are part of the Pro plan). The due date is optional, and you can add a note for the students.
What is free in Grade 1?
A class of 35 students or fewer, photos and drawings, up to 50 activities of your own, announcements and messages with families, three challenges and three privileges for points. The Pro plan, at CA$79 per year per teacher plus tax, adds video and audio, multi-page worksheets, groups, unlimited students and several classes.
